I am very pleased to be
able to say that "Birt" -
Aust Ch Arndane Devil Inthedark gained his
Australian Champion title today (07/03/2009).
I am also very, very pleased
to be able to say
Aust Ch Arndane Devil Inthedark is Australias
very first correctly marked mantle Champion.
Gaining your Australian
Champion title is an achievement.
Every CC certificate that is issued states on it
"I am clearly of the opinion that this exhibit is of
such outstanding merit as to qualify for the title of Champion"
and the judge signs their name to the CC certificate.
Since the "Mantle"
colour was accepted by the ANKC on 1/1/2007
there have been two "mantle" dogs/ and one bitch (Rorlyn,
Warpaint and Hildydane) who have gained their Aust Ch title and
my statement above does not in any way demean or denigrate
their Australian Champion title.
I am merely stating a fact.
To be able to state this
fact I refer to the ANKC Great Dane
"Mantle" colour standard which states first and foremost:
Solid, black blanket extending
over the body.
The three previous "mantle"
dogs all had a break in their
blanket contrary to the Great Dane Mantle Colour Standard.

What a great achievement!!
PIA is a beautiful dane, true to type, very flashy - that head, that
top-line,
those rear angles - all make for a magnificent
looking bitch who is an absolute credit to her breeder Leanne Arnold.
Pia is a beautifuly marked
harlequin, moves like a dream, is very outgoing and has the
sweetest personality. Watch for this lovely young lady on the
show circuit throughout North Queensland.

GROUP/JUNIOR IN GROUP/BEST OF BREED (against some
very tough competition).

In Show at The Great Dane
Club of NSW Specialty Show, and is now being shown by Morgan,
who is 13 years of age.
Morgan and Lucy make a
great team, Lucy's always calm,
patient and solid as a rock in the ring for Morgan.
This is a testament to Lucy's wonderful temperament and a
typical example of the great dogs bred by Arndane Great Danes.
Lucy is harlequin bred and "colour pure" for many generations.
